Connect your computer

Connect a computer when an assistant needs local files, installed software, or resources on your private network.

When a connection is useful

Writing and working on uploaded files can happen in the cloud. Use a device connection for projects or software that must stay on your machine.

The device page offers Linux, Windows, macOS, and Chrome extension types. Capabilities differ; a browser connection is not a full computer connector.

Connect from the device page

  1. Open Devices and register a device.
  2. Give it a recognizable name, choose its platform, and select its scope.
  3. Follow the provided installation or download instructions on the target computer.
  4. Pair or enter the connection details as instructed, then wait for Online status.
  5. Tell the assistant which device to use and what to do.

Keep the device token in the connector, not in chat. If it is lost or needs replacement, update the key through device management and update the connector too.

Installation by platform

Open Download plugin on the Devices page and choose your system.

Windows: Download the matching 64-bit or 32-bit installer. Install and open Brazosd Connector, select Connect, then follow the sign-in and registration prompts. Check that the device is online. An existing registration can also use its device ID and token in the connector.

Linux / macOS: Choose your system, register and name the device, and copy its generated installation command into a terminal on that machine. The installer selects the CPU architecture. Run as your own user; on macOS, open Terminal from your logged-in desktop. Ask a colleague for help if you are unfamiliar with a terminal.

Use the command generated for your own device, because it includes connection-specific information.

Start with a small test

Try this request
Check that you can access my Office Computer.
Only list filenames in the folder I specify; do not modify anything.
Ask me if the path or access scope is unclear.

Confirm the machine, directory, and allowed actions before requesting changes. Set explicit rules for moving, overwriting, deleting, or running programs.

Private and organization devices

Device scope affects visibility, and actual use follows the session user's permissions. Seeing a device does not automatically grant every operation.

Before sharing a team computer, agree on users, purpose, and accessible materials. Device notes help describe the environment but do not replace permissions.

If the device is offline

Check power, network, connector process, device ID, and token. Updating a key requires updating connection details. A cloud assistant cannot operate an offline machine.

Keep required devices online during scheduled jobs and check system sleep settings before long work. To disconnect temporarily, stop the connector. Deleting the platform record is a separate action and does not mean erasing the computer's files.
