Scope and purpose
This policy describes the Brazosd Chrome extension provided by Brazosd. The extension connects your Chrome profile to a Brazosd service or a local Chrome MCP server so that you and your connected agent can run browser automation, manage scripts and inspect task results. It covers the extension and data it exchanges for these tasks; websites you automate and other services you connect have their own privacy practices.
Data the extension handles
Connection data includes the configured server address, device credential, a generated browser identifier, browser display name and extension version. Signing in opens the Brazosd registration page; the extension receives a device credential after registration. It does not receive your Brazosd account password from that sign-in flow.
Workspace and task data includes scripts, files, task inputs, environment values, timestamps, execution status, logs, errors, results and screenshots. Browser operations can read URLs, page titles and page content, and enter information into forms. The information involved depends on the scripts and pages you choose and may contain personal information, credentials or other sensitive content.
Automation uses the website sessions already available in the current Chrome profile. The extension does not use the Chrome history API to collect a general browsing history. You or your connected agent can list existing tabs and groups, read their URLs, titles and foreground/background state, and attach selected tabs to a task for page interaction and screenshots. Tasks can create, move, close or release tabs and organize groups. Task logs can contain the URLs and activity of those pages.
Download operations can search Chrome download records and read filenames, source URLs, sizes, progress and completion state. A task can start, wait for, pause, resume or cancel downloads. With Chrome’s Allow access to file URLs setting enabled, completed downloaded files can be read, copied into the workspace or streamed to a cloud drive or another connected device on request. File contents may contain any personal or sensitive information present in the selected file.
Use and recipients
The extension uses this data to authenticate the configured connection, execute your tasks, provide a persistent workspace and display or return execution results. It does not include advertising or cross-site analytics. We do not sell extension user data or use it for advertising profiles, creditworthiness or lending decisions, or purposes unrelated to the automation described here.
The configured Brazosd control and tunnel services, or your local MCP server, receive connection information and the responses to their requests. A connected agent can read workspace files and task outputs, including logs and screenshots. Local storage does not mean that a connected agent cannot retrieve those files.
When an agent uses a result, the configured agent service and its selected AI model providers or connected tools may process it as part of the task. The recipients depend on your service, organization and agent configuration. Websites you automate receive the navigation requests and form information sent to them. Review these destinations before including sensitive data in a task.
Storage and retention
Connection settings and the device credential are stored in this Chrome profile’s extension storage. Workspace files and task history are stored locally in IndexedDB. The extension does not use Chrome Sync to synchronize this workspace between profiles.
Chrome downloads remain as files on your local device, separate from the extension workspace. The read-only download mount refers to those files and does not create another local copy. Direct reading requires the file and its Chrome download record to remain available. Clearing extension storage does not delete downloaded files from your device; manage those files and download records through Chrome and your operating system.
Saved files remain until they are deleted or the extension’s stored data is cleared. Task history is bounded; older completed records may be removed as new tasks are created. There is no fixed retention period in days. Disabling the extension, disconnecting it or closing a task’s tabs does not by itself delete saved files and records.
Copies already returned to a Brazosd session, a local MCP client, an AI provider or another connected service are separate from the local workspace. Clearing local data does not delete those copies. Their retention depends on the receiving service and your account or organization settings. Contact us about access or deletion of data held by Brazosd.
Connections and permissions
Remote device connections require WSS, and remote registration pages require HTTPS. The optional local adapter can use an unencrypted WebSocket on localhost. Websites opened by an automation task can use HTTP or HTTPS according to the URL you provide. The extension does not add separate encryption to data saved in the Chrome profile.
The tabs and tabGroups permissions list and manage existing and task-created pages and groups. The debugger permission enables page inspection, form interaction and screenshots on created or explicitly attached tabs. downloads supports download records and controls. webNavigation associates pages opened by task links and popups with their parent task group. The file URL permission supports reading completed local downloads when you enable it in Chrome. Storage saves connection settings; offscreen runs cancellable scripts without a visible extension page; alarms support reconnection; identity handles sign-in and device registration.
User-supplied scripts run in a sandbox with no direct Chrome API or network access. They request supported operations from the bundled extension code. A connected service still has the authority you grant it to read workspace data and run tasks, so connect only to services you trust.
Your controls and policy changes
You can inspect scripts and files, view execution logs, stop tasks and delete ordinary workspace files. Disable or remove the extension to stop its connection. Clear the extension’s stored data or remove it from the Chrome profile to remove its local workspace and settings; save any files you want to keep first. These actions do not undo requests already sent to websites or erase remote copies.
